Do you rent boats too?
Yes - but we don't let the boats out until summer. If you're looking to reserve a boat, check the schedule from June-October!
-What is the minimum age to rent a boat or jet ski?
In 2024 we lowered our age requirement from 21 to 18 for Jetski tours. However "free ride" rentals are still 21+. Younger riders can be as young as 10 and required to be a passenger.
-Do I need a driver's license to rent a boat or jet ski?
A valid driver's license is required to rent and operate.
-How about a boating license, do I need one to operate a boat?
Yes, but we made it possible for you. Department of Natural Resources Code Section 52-7-8.3 requires all rental operators to complete an approved Rental Education Course, which will be emailed to you upon booking. We issue you your six month boating license when you show up for your rental. Don't worry, it only takes about ten minutes.
-Do I need to have experience operating a jet ski to rent one?
Beginners are totally welcome. If you're a beginner, just let us know. We will make sure you're confident on the water. You can also look into our guided tours if you think you need additional instruction.
-What kind of Jetskis do you have?
Yamaha Waverunners
-How much do the rentals or guided tours cost?
Based on demand. Click book now at the bottom to see latest prices.
-Where do I ride the jet skis?
We're permitted to operate out of Tidwell Park at
4950 Pilgrim Mill Road Cumming, GA 30041. However, we deliver them if you reserve the option "Lake House Jetski Rental".
-How many people can go on a Jet ski/Waverunner?
The Jet skis are coast guard rated for three people, however our policy allows for a max of two at a time. Each jetski shall not exceed 400lbs combined.
-What safety measures are in place for jet ski rentals?
Safety measures can include a safety video or training course, personal flotation devices (PFDs) provided, and obeying all boating laws and regulations.
-Will I be held liable for any damages to the jet ski?
Renters may be responsible for any damage caused to the jet ski during the rental period. It's like renting a car. If you get into an accident, or cause any damage to other vessels, docks or person, Lake Lanier Jetski Rental LLC is not liable. You are responsible for your own safety as well as others around you.
-Do you take deposits?
On Rentals yes, on tours no. However Lake Lanier Jetski Rental holds the lowest refundable deposit of $150 per jet ski on the lake. Renting a boat is already expensive, we get it.
-Is gas included?
Only on tours. For rentals we estimate the amount of gas used and remove the amount from your deposit. If you rent a jet ski and the deposit is $150, we subtract from the amount used. Since we're not a marina, we don't charge marina prices. So you will be saving about 50% in fuel compared to our competitors. Keep in mind riding style factors into your fuel consumption. A whole tank is about 16 gallons.
-Are there any discounts available for renting a jet ski?
We may offer discounts for groups, lake houses, weekly rentals, or off-peak rentals. Follow us on Instagram @lanierjetski to get latest promo codes.
-Do I need to bring anything specific?
Prepare your day as if you went out on the beach. Appropriate swimwear and towels are encouraged. Water shoes are highly recommended.
-Do you need to make a reservation?
Yes, we're by appointment. Please book at least one hour in advance so we can have everything ready for you. We also encourage everyone to fill out the paperwork emailed to you prior to your arrival.
-Are masks required?
No masks are required here.
-What are the weather requirements?
Weather varies in Georgia. It can be bright and sunny at the moment, and then all of a sudden rain. Thunderstorms are automatic cancellation and anything over 50% rain is subject to cancellation without penalty.
Pre-Season temp requirement is a minimum of 62F to ride.
