Camp margaritaville

Margaritaville at Lanier Islands Campground: The Perfect Lake Lanier Weekend Getaway

Margaritaville at Lanier Islands Campground has quickly become one of the most popular places for families, couples, and weekend travelers looking to enjoy the best of Lake Lanier. With lakeside campsites, resort-style amenities, and instant access to the water, Margaritaville offers the ideal mix of relaxation and adventure — and it’s one of the top destinations our Lake Lanier jet ski, kayak, and boat rental customers choose for their weekend stay.

Whether you’re planning a summer trip, a long holiday weekend, or a family getaway, Margaritaville provides everything you need to enjoy Lake Lanier to the fullest.

A Top-Rated Resort and Campground on Lake Lanier

Located inside the beautiful Lanier Islands resort area, the Margaritaville campground is known for its clean facilities, shaded campsites, and unbeatable lake views. Guests can choose from:

  • Tent sites

  • RV sites with full hookups

  • Premium lakefront RV sites

  • Cabins and glamping options

Because the campground sits right along the shoreline, visitors can wake up to the water, launch right into lake activities, or walk straight to Margaritaville attractions.

This combination of nature, convenience, and resort amenities is what makes it one of the most sought-after campgrounds in North Georgia.

Why Many of Our Jet Ski Rentals Stay at Margaritaville for the Weekend

A large portion of our weekend jet ski rental customers stay directly at Margaritaville. Here’s why:

✔ You’re already on the water

Guests don’t have to drive far or trailer equipment. You’re waking up on Lake Lanier — ready for adventure.

✔ Easy pickup and drop-off

Since our rentals operate right on Lake Lanier, it’s extremely convenient for campers to book multi-day rentals or reserve jet skis for the entire weekend.

✔ Perfect for families and groups

Most groups staying at the campground book jet skis, kayaks, or paddleboards to enjoy throughout their stay. It’s a great way to explore hidden coves, see the islands, and enjoy the water without the hassle of owning equipment.

✔ A complete resort vacation

Guests can swim, boat, fish, explore, relax, then spend the evening at LandShark Landing or the Margaritaville Lakeside attractions — all from the same resort.

If you’re staying at Margaritaville, renting a jet ski for the weekend is one of the best ways to experience everything Lake Lanier has to offer.

OTHER Lake Lanier Campgrounds/RV Parks

Shoal Creek Campground

Shoal Creek Campground on Lake Lanier is a peaceful, lakeside getaway managed by Margaritaville but located just off-site from the main Lanier Islands resort. Many of our Lake Lanier Jetski Rental customers stay here on weekends because it offers clean campsites, easy shoreline access, and calm waters perfect for jet skiing, boating, kayaking, and fishing. Bad Ridge Creek Picnic Table

Baldridge Creek Campground

Bald Ridge Creek Campground has 78 spacious campsites and is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Sidney Lanier. All sites have water & electric hookups (50 amp) and many are next to the lake with views of the aqua-blue waters. The well-maintained campground is operated by the Corp of Engineers.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (from 27 to 109 feet). Each site has water & electric hookups, a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Most sites also accommodate up to 3 vehicles and 8 people. ADA sites are 9, 10, 60, 62 and 64.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, laundry facilities and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp, swim beach, ice machine, picnic area and firewood available to purchase from the camp host.

Sawnee Campground Beach

Sawnee Campground

  • Sawnee Campground is a picturesque location for camping on the south end of Lanier near Buford Dam.
  • Sawnee Campground on Lake Lanier
  • Sawnee is close enough to Atlanta to get away for a night by the shores of Lake Lanier, if you secure reservations before you arrive.
  • It is also far enough away from Atlanta — and its 3,752 roads name “Peachtree” something — that you can forget its there.
  • Millions and millions of people come to visit Lake Lanier annually instead of going somewhere else.
  • Once you begin to explore the 38,000 acres of glistening water, 690 miles of fascinating shoreline or the 100 small islands that are perfect for exploration, you will understand why Lake Lanier is the top choice of so many.
  • Sawnee Campground has 44 lakeside sites with electric and water hookups, 11 sites that don’t have hookups, and 5 for just setting up a tent and “roughing it.”
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.  You’ll be surprised at how much fun you can have without a buzz, once you spend time at Sawnee.

If the camping, beach and swim area, boat ramp with a courtesy dock, paths and children’s playground don’t refresh you, take a cold shower and try again.

Once you set up camp, you won’t want to leave.  Sorry, there are limits to how long you can stay.
